Press Win + R to open the Run window, type “installer” and click Enter to open the folder in File Explorer.2. Add the column “Subject”. Right click the column headers, then click More and select Subject3. Sort on the Subject column and scroll down until you locate the name “Office 16 Click-to-Run Extensibility Component 64-bit Registration”.4. Right click the MSI file and choose uninstall.I did that and then got this:Not quite sure how to proceed from here as I do not want to uninstall Skype or Office.Any suggestions? Hi Stephen - only dealing with the 'open with' part. That sounds like a file association problem.

    Click

First try running a Repair on the office install you have. Do this through Add/Remove Programs or open any office application (Word/Excel etc.) and from the Help menu, select Repair. Either way, have the office disc available. If that still doesn't fix the file association, try:Open My Computer Tools Folder Options File TypesFrom this list, you will need to re-associate the office extensions with the relevant office applications. So for example:.doc - Word,.xls - Excel etc.Once the file associations are sorted, that may fix your multiple-open query, which is possible.TTG(NB.

I usually run a reg-clean up using when I have office issues and need to uninstall/re-install). I really have not had any issues with the pre-loads, and with this tool it get's rid of the main thing I want to get rid of.

Sep 19, 2017  Since Click-to-Run is a service not a program, you can certainly disable it by following the below steps: Click Start and go to Control Panel. Click on Administrative Tools and go to Services. In Services window find Microsoft Office ClickToRun service, Right click it, select Properties.

Click-to-Run's streaming ability lets use of the app start while downloading and installation goes on in the background, but once installed the app can be used offline. Any Click-to-Run Office app executes in a virtualized ('sandboxed') environment, with this service active in the background providing automate quick and online repairs for Office. Solution Press the Windows button and R on the keyboard to open the run command. In the box enter regedit and click ‘OK’. Navigate to Computer HKEYCLASSESROOT Installer Products. Press Ctrl and F on your keyboard to open the find window and search for Office 15 Click-to-Run.

How Do I Get Rid Of Microsoft Office Click To Run?

Crazy.just crazy.I rarely drink or even use those words but I am about to. After having success on one PC, I was going to try this on the 10 PC's having this problem. I decided to try two of them at lunch. It will not work. Even using my original method to remove the 'Click to Run' and the Dell Remove tool, as soon as I load our version of Office on their PC and then try to load the Access runtime, I am back to where I started.

I even tried loading the Access runtime first and then when installing Office, it fails.I'm in a world of hurt with these 10 PC's needing to run this Access based Application ASAP. Any other suggestions?

    What Is Microsoft Office Click-to-run

DragonsRule wrote:Oh, they have H&B? That changes things.Have you seen this?As stated in the past,Office C2R and MSI of the same major version cannot be installed sideby side. Currently, if you are using Office/Access 2016 C2R, werecommend that you install Access 2013 Runtime MSI if you need a side-by-side setup. The two versions are functionally equivalent, and this installation should work smoothly. If this post can have TWO BEST ANSWERS, yours would be it too.both solutions worked.and weird how Office H&B 2016 needs Access Runtime 2013 and it was OK to run Access Runtime 2016 on my Office 2013 users. Gotta love it! Thanks so much! Der Geist wrote:I really wish I'd been smarter and read all the way to the end when I ran across this.

I hadn't installed Access on a laptop that went out and decided the AR2016 would work.I ran through the FixIt and borked the Office H&B 2016 install. Hilarity ensues when I d/l the install to the laptop and run the setup. I get the 'We found a problem!' Popup complaining about the 'Office 16 Click-to-Run'. Even their own program hates it.Yes.this was such a weird / backward kind of problem.

For me I was trying to instal VL Visio (MSI) with our Office 365 Business (C2R) which wasn't working and had similar errors to the OP which is how I landed here.Thought it was going to fail with people mentioned that C2R and MSI installs can't co-exist which seems right, but found you can C2R the 'MSI' install, then apply the license as usual.Used this for the info,So I have now installed our Visio 2016 standard with VL licensing next to our subscription based Office 365 Business (Office 2016 Business) edition, all seems to be working fine.
